Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join our Singapore office. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Singapore office's regulatory compliance matters are handled effectively. You will work closely with business stakeholders in the region and international colleagues to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a robust compliance framework to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, with a focus on MAS regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the investment team on compliance matters, including investment restrictions, disclosure requirements, and conflicts of interest.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Compliance Team based in the UK to oversee investment restriction adherence through alert investigation and escalation within the order management system, Aladdin.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and reviews to identify potential gaps and implement appropriate controls.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, risk management, and operations teams, to address compliance issues and implement best practices.
  • Advise the Singapore business on all relevant regulatory matters, including new business, new products, and marketing material review.
  • Monitor and review investment guidelines and client mandates to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments and industry best practices, providing updates and recommendations to the business.
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory changes and industry standards.
  • Support the APAC Head of Compliance in regional compliance matters as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in asset management compliance, with a deep understanding of Asian regulations, including MAS, SFC, and other local compliance requirements in Singapore.
  • Strong knowledge of investment compliance and advisory compliance, including relevant laws, regulations, and asset management industry best practices.
  • Experience of investment restriction oversight using order management systems, with experience of rule coding and Aladdin use advantageous.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks specific to the asset management industry in Singapore.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to practical scenarios.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with business stakeholders and local regulators.
  • Spoken and written literacy in English, Mandarin, and preferably, Cantonese.
