Senior Business Analyst

This is a dynamic role that combines business acumen with analytical expertise to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and document business requirements, develop feasible solution options, and drive the requirement discovery journey in partnership with the client.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyse and precisely document business and systems requirements; translate business requirements into functionality, assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the Business and the IT teams; assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement, and implementation of strategies.
  3. Run requirement-gathering workshops with business users and key stakeholders; assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand bottlenecks and identify opportunities for improvement.
  4. Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements through testing and scope changes to the final solution.
  5. Interact with software suppliers, designers, and developers; understand software limitations, deliver elements of system and database design, and ensure that business requirements and use cases are handled.
  6. Create acceptance criteria and validate that solutions meet business needs; define and coordinate testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commodity or energy trading industry experience with 3+ years of business analysis experience.
  • Experience working in commodities trading with a comprehensive understanding of the trading lifecycle.
  • Some experience in working with ETRM systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Technical skills like SQL are advantageous.
  • Experience working on large implementations or transformation projects/programs.
