About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Procurement Engineer. This role will involve contributing to product cost savings through identifying opportunities for cost reduction, managing suppliers, and driving value engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • To contribute to product cost savings through identifying opportunities for cost reduction, including during the bid stage
  • To manage suppliers and drive multiple Value Added Engineering (VAVE) projects in a timely manner to support business goals
  • To handle component changes due to obsolescence or supply shortages
  • To assist with locating component sources, vendors, and manufacturers, and finding component substitutions along with qualification strategies
  • To monitor, identify, and resolve all lifecycle issues and assist various teams to identify appropriate resources and substitutes for components
  • To assess quality, reliability, and compatibility of components through testing, analysis, and collaboration with engineering and suppliers
  • To analyze and evaluate design for materials, manufacturing process, and supply chain for value analysis/value engineering opportunities
  • To coordinate with Global and local stakeholders, including suppliers, for project execution, including samples, prototypes, and testing requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum degree in Electronics Engineering or other relevant field of studies
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the EMS or an MNC environment with proven experience in managing suppliers
  • Strong analysis skills, knowledge in material pricing and strategy
  • Experience with evaluation and qualification of electrical/electronic components/manufacturers
  • Proven experience in successful VA/VE proposals
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office
