Senior Associate Role in Dispute Resolution

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our team and handle high-value, cross-border disputes. This pivotal role will require a commercially astute individual with expertise in dispute resolution mechanisms.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex caseloads of civil and commercial dispute resolution matters from instruction through to resolution, covering various dispute resolution mechanisms, including international arbitrations, mediations, adjudications, and investigations, across multiple sectors such as sport, construction & infrastructure, oil & gas, pharma & bio-medical devices, and anti-bribery & corruption.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on disputes and contentious issues to internal stakeholders or clients.
  • Draft and review pleadings, submissions, witness statements, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedural deadlines in multiple jurisdictions while maintaining rigorous file management and reporting standards.
  • Actively engage in networking and business development initiatives to attract new clients and drive growth in the department, working closely with (among others) London and Tokyo offices to target Japanese companies.

Qualifications:
  • 6-8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in high-value, cross-border dispute resolution, litigation, or arbitration across a broad range of sectors.
  • Candidates must be English law qualified, as they will primarily work on English law governed matters.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and client management skills.
  • Fluency in Japanese is a pre-requisite for this role, as the successful candidate will work closely with the firm's Tokyo office and Japanese clients.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex issues with discretion and professionalism.
