Job Overview

This position provides expert legal support for data privacy matters across the APAC and Emerging Markets region. The role involves managing regulatory issues for a global organization spanning over 120 markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on regulatory investigations, litigation, government policy, external communications, and other matters.
  • Monitor trends and issues in various markets to identify potential concerns for the company.
  • Coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams.
  • Identify areas of common concern, redundancies in operation, and inefficiencies to develop standards and policies improving workflow in the region.
  • Plan activities to ensure international and regional legal teams meet objectives and provide actionable deliverables to the organization at large.
  • Merge solutions across key jurisdictions with a focus on AEM but with foundational knowledge of other global laws such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Advise on algorithmic and artificial intelligence-related matters.
Qualifications
  • Qualified to practice law and in good standing in Singapore, US, UK, or other common law jurisdiction.
  • Significant experience managing privacy legal and regulatory matters.
  • Experience working on data privacy efforts globally/regionally for a major multinational corporation or advising agency on data privacy issues.
  • Detail-oriented and able to coordinate across multiple teams/countries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to face tough challenges in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of humor.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
