Job Title: Technical Molding Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Technical Molding Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with diverse forming and stamping equipment, including electric or hydraulic forming machines.

The Technical Molding Engineer will interpret and evaluate mechanical part drawings for dimensions, tolerances, and cosmetic requirements. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all components meet the required specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency with various forming and stamping equipment (electric or hydraulic forming machines are a plus)
  • Experience in the design, use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of jigs and fixtures for mechanical components
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate mechanical part drawings for dimensions, tolerances, and cosmetic requirements
  • Knowledge of mechanical component design, structural specifications, and problem-solving
  • Familiarity with CNC process flows, including machine operation, programming, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues

Key Requirements:

  • Educational background: A degree in mechanical design, manufacturing, or a related field is required
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of plastic injection molding machines, including both single-shot and multi-shot molding
  • MATERIALS & PROCESS EXPERIENCE: Foundational knowledge of plastic materials is necessary
  • Problem-solving skills: Proficient in dimensional analysis of molded parts and troubleshooting issues related to part appearance, raw materials, and molds
  • Equipment proficiency: Skilled in using hot runner systems, oil temperature controllers, robotic arms, and vertical insert molding machines
  • Software proficiency: Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software
