The Trade Specialist plays a crucial role in driving business growth and profitability. This individual will be responsible for managing trade strategies, analysing market trends, and supporting the optimization of trade services.

Job Scope:

The successful candidate will oversee the development of pricing strategies to ensure competitive and profitable pricing across assigned trade lanes. This includes monitoring trade performance by analysing P&L trends and providing insights for strategic decision-making.

  • Gather and synthesise information on trade regulations, tariffs, and market dynamics while performing competitor analysis and assisting in forecasting.
  • Develop and manage rate structures, including the application of surcharges, to drive yield management tactics and ensure an optimal cargo mix.
  • Analyse market trends to develop accurate trade forecasts and work closely with stakeholders on trade and growth plans to ensure operational efficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Business or related discipline is preferred.
  • More than 4 years of experience in the shipping industry with strong background in pricing/yield management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
