Role Overview:

Senior Nurse - Operating Theatre

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse to join our team in the Operating Theatre. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth running of our surgical services.

About the Role:

  • Coordinate patient care needs with theatre team members and surgeons.
  • Work closely with surgeons to provide instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required.
  • Prepare the operating room for surgery by procuring equipment, supplies and consumables.
  • Check all equipment prior to surgery to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Handle and operate equipment competently.
  • Ensure safety of surgical instruments, equipment and consumables.
  • Enforce strict standards of infection control.
  • Respond effectively to emergency clinical situations.
  • Monitor patient care and treatment until recovery from anaesthesia.
  • Perform continuous patient assessment, monitoring and documentation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with relevant nursing board.
  • Proven experience in Operating Theatre setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
