Key Research Opportunities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Fellow to contribute to our Centre for Epidemic Research and Modelling within the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore.

The successful candidate will lead research in developing and applying mathematical models to understand long-term dynamics of natural- and vaccine-induced immunity to pathogens. This includes developing a suite of within-host mathematical models to test hypotheses regarding the durability of acquired immunity through natural infection, vaccination, or in combination.

This project is part of a wider multi-country collaborative initiative aiming to develop novel immunological assays to improve surveillance of spillover of viral families of pandemic potential.

The team will work closely with researchers from Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the UK.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collate and analyse data from longitudinal studies on immune dynamics in response to infection and/or vaccination
  • Develop within-host mathematical models of the immune response to pathogens
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, including virologists, immunologists, and bioinformaticians
  • Disseminate research findings through peer-review publications and presentations at international meetings and conferences
  • Assist in supervising and mentoring graduate students and junior researchers
  • Contribute to future grant proposal developments
