**Chief Data Scientist, Natural Language Processing (NLP)**

**About this position**

Be a part of key members of the company as the strategic chief data scientist to drive Natural Language Processing (NLP) strategy and technical direction.

**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with senior management & stakeholders both internally and externally to transform data, and define problems
- Take the leadership and manage NLP Data Science projects independently
- Conduct research focused on natural language processing and machine learning using different models
- Develop and redefine best practices for the NLP function within the Data team and Development team
- Develop NLP systems according to requirements
- Train the developed model and run evaluation experiments
- Perform statistical analysis of results and refine models
- Remain updated in the rapidly changing field of machine learning
- End to end involvement of data science projects from analysis, design, development and deployment

**Skills & Qualifications**
- PhD in relevant fields including Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, System Engineering or related field
- Experience in the Finance or Technology industry (FinTech), with ability to understand the finance domain knowledge
- Strong working experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, R, C++
- Strong working experience with database, such as Mango DB, Postgres, Mysql, Dolphin DB etc
- Working experience with AI-NLP methodologies and tools such as:
a) Transfer Learning for NLP (GPT, BERT, ELMo, ULMFiT), NLP Frameworks (Fast.ai, genism, spaCy)

b) Machine Learning Frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras)

c) Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) and their variants such as LSTM

d) Large LLM models (OpenAI GPT, BERT, LLaMA)

e) NLP Pipelines and tasks
- Experience in using data and cloud storage (AWS, Azure, Google, Hadoop, Kafka, noSQL)
- Strong communicator
- An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders across the business
