As the Global Head of Employment Law, you will be responsible for providing strategic employment law advice to senior executives and overseeing global standards, policies, and processes for the delivery of employment law services worldwide.
The Role- Provide strategic employment law advice to senior executives, ensuring that they are equipped to make informed decisions about employment matters.
- Oversight of global standards, policies, and processes for the delivery of employment law services worldwide.
- Develop and articulate a clear vision and development plan for the employment law function to meet strategic goals.
- Drive and evaluate progress against these goals, ensuring that the function is delivering value-added services to the business.
- Design and implement the operating model for delivering employment law services, ensuring that it is efficient, effective, and aligned with the business's needs.
- Manage resources and prioritize services based on strategic value, ensuring that the function is delivering maximum ROI.
- Deliver services efficiently and cost-effectively, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business and stakeholders.
- Ensure quality and consistency, acting on stakeholder feedback and continuously improving the services offered.
- Develop KPIs and metrics for effective decision-making, ensuring that the function is measurable and accountable.
- Report operationally to senior stakeholders, providing them with timely and accurate information about the function's performance.
- Promote collaboration within the legal teams and with external stakeholders, ensuring that the function is integrated into the wider business.
- Provide legal support on key projects in collaboration with the wider business, ensuring that the function is aligned with the business's objectives.
- Drive team engagement and build a high-performance, fair, transparent, and honest team culture, ensuring that the function is a great place to work.
- Identify and develop top talent, ensuring that the function has the skills and expertise needed to deliver excellent services.
- Implement strategies for succession planning, ensuring that the function has a pipeline of future leaders.
- Manage performance, learning, and development effectively, ensuring that employees are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- You have at least 12 years of employment law experience, preferably in-house.
- You have a strong understanding of employment law and its pragmatic application in a commercial environment.
- You have experience working on multi-jurisdictional matters across Asia and managing external counsel.
- You have an interest in innovative legal service delivery, including legal tech.
- You are aware of the legal function's role in a global business.
- You can work independently in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
- You have confidence and gravitas to challenge decisions when necessary.
- You have excellent communication skills and proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
