Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to fill the role of Group Legal Counsel. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced lawyer to provide expert legal guidance on all aspects of Singapore law and relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in law, with experience in trading, property development, and construction. The successful candidate will lead legal support on business development initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, establishment of new joint ventures, divestments, and acquisitions of shares or assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal guidance on all aspects of Singapore law and relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead legal support on business development initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, establishment of new joint ventures, divestments, and acquisitions of shares or assets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, developing and/or updating relevant templates and standard terms and conditions.
  • Draft, review, and evaluate internal policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in law (LLB) from a reputable university and admission to the Singapore bar.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of experience in either a law firm or as a legal counsel, preferably in trading & distribution, property development, and construction-related fields.
  • Expertise in mergers and acquisitions, general corporate law, and litigation.
  • Able to travel to Malaysia for M&A jobs.
