Senior Telecommunications Engineer

Job Summary:

As a Senior Telecommunications Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of telecommunications systems for various industries. Your expertise will be essential in identifying business demands, analyzing requirements, and aligning priorities to achieve overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop telecommunication systems, including radio communication systems, security systems, navigation aids, and wired communication systems.
  • Prepare drawings and specifications for procurement of equipment.
  • Develop detailed system designs with diagrams and schematics.
  • Select telecom equipment and provide input for preparation of selected reports.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and participate in customer visits and technical project meetings.

System Knowledge:

  • Radio Communication Systems: GMDSS, Microwave Radio, SCADA Radio, Trunked Radio, Crane Radio, Radio Dispatch, Satellite Phone
  • Security Systems: Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, PABX (VoIP), Person On Board (POB)
  • Navigation Aids: Radar, ECDIS, Auto Pilot, AIS, DGPS, LRIT, Compass, Echo Sounder, Speed Log, VDR, Navigation & Obstruction Lights, RACON, Fog Horn, BNWAS, VSAT, Entertainment System, EMS
  • Wired Communication: PAGA, Page Party, Talk Back, Smart Series, Driller, PABX (Analog), Sound-Powered Phone System

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or IT is required.
  • Prefer experience in relevant industry such as oil & gas, marine, shipyard, petrochemical, power plant is a MUST.
  • Able to lead a team of telecom engineer/junior telecom engineer to meet various project schedule, customer expectation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken English).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
