Cadaver Specialist - Procedural Training

Responsibilities
  • Ensure smooth operations during cadaveric or sawbones training sessions.
  • Assist faculty and healthcare professionals with lab equipment usage, providing basic troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Clean up the lab post-course, including disinfection procedures and proper disposal of biohazard waste.
  • Enforce health, safety, and infection control protocols during workshop execution.
  • Perform post-course checks on instruments, equipment, and consumables to identify items requiring maintenance, replacement, or restocking.
  • Document operational issues or incidents during the session and suggest improvements for future course execution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational lab environment at all times.
  • Manage, clean, and store surgical instruments before and after each training session.
  • Oversee lab equipment servicing and maintenance, coordinating with internal stakeholders and vendors as needed.
  • Conduct regular checks on lab tools, machinery, and backup equipment to identify wear, damage, or functional issues.
  • Collaborate in planning and forecasting of consumables, implants, and specimens based on the Academy's calendar.
  • Monitor inventory levels of consumables, implants, and lab materials to ensure adequate stock is available for upcoming courses.
  • Maintain accurate usage logs and documentation of materials used during training sessions.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock counts and reconcile with the digital inventory management system.
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments of surgical instruments and consumables.
  • Organize and document incoming shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with local health regulations, ethical use policies, and human tissue license requirements.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions for specimens, monitoring temperatures and performing regular checks.
  • Coordinate the timely and respectful disposal of specimens following approved procedures.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols during course execution and day-to-day lab operations.
  • Ensure proper usage of PPE and disposal of biological and general waste.
  • Participate in internal safety audits and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Report and document any incidents or breaches of safety.
Requirements
  • Diploma or equivalent in a scientific or related discipline.
  • First Aid Certification, Infection Control Training.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a surgical clinical orthopaedics environment or equivalent experience working directly with healthcare professionals.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards and best practices for clinical and lab operations, prioritizing safety and compliance.
