Job Title: Laboratory Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Laboratory Operations Manager to lead our clinical laboratory team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, laboratory science or a related field, as well as significant experience working in a licensed clinical laboratory.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including performing and troubleshooting laboratory protocols, managing lab staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Additionally, the Laboratory Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining quality management systems, laboratory information systems, and accreditation standards such as ISO15189, ISO13485 or College of American Pathologists (CAP).

They will also be responsible for operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accuracy, precision, and reliability of performance.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.

They will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer/Lab Director to ensure the laboratory's success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory protocols for both clinical and non-clinical projects
  • Manage and train lab staff on protocols and procedures
  • Oversee laboratory operations' compliance to regulatory requirements
  • Troubleshoot and optimize protocols for maximum data quality and output
  • Maintain quality management systems, laboratory information systems, and accreditation standards
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, Life Science or a related field
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a licensed clinical laboratory and qualifications to act as Laboratory Manager/Section Lead for a licensed laboratory
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, quality management systems and/or clinical accreditation is required
  • Self-starter and team player that is comfortable working in a group and individually and strives for continuous improvement
