Residential Youth Care Worker Role

We are seeking a skilled Residential Youth Care Worker to join our team at a residential treatment centre for female adolescents who have faced abuse or neglect.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering trauma-informed care, supervision, and management to residents. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the residents' basic personal, physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social needs are comprehensively addressed.

  • Care for residents by carrying out daily operational duties and supervising them during their regular activities
  • Assist residents with difficulties related to day-to-day issues and ensure their welfare and safety
  • Promote discipline among residents and serve as a mentor/role model
  • Audit, respond, and handle crises or conflicts effectively
  • Develop and implement individual therapeutic interventions based on care plans developed by the treatment team
  • Contribute to providing physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social support to residents

To succeed in this role, you must have experience working with youth at-risk and possess basic processing and counselling skills.

  • Knowledge of common issues and disorders associated with trauma and abuse is essential
  • Ability to work on 3-shift rotations, including weekends and public holidays
