Middleware Engineer

A seasoned Middleware Specialist is sought after to oversee the management of WebSphere, JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, Jetty, IIS, and MQ Series platforms within a large-scale IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will spearhead migration projects while ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of these platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage middleware technologies to ensure availability, stability, and high-performance operation.
  • Resolve technical issues, incidents, and change requests in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Drive innovation through automation, performance tuning, and process improvement.
  • Adopt DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, compliance) to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop user-centric interfaces and workflows to streamline operations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of middleware platforms and strategic projects.

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and possess 5-8 years' experience with middleware platforms, including WebSphere, JBoss, WildFly, Tomcat, Apache, and Kafka.

Strong skills in Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems, scripting languages (Java, Shell, Python, PowerShell), and monitoring tools (Nagios, OMI, ServiceNow, Geneos) are essential. Familiarity with Jenkins, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Rundeck, and Git, as well as cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), is an advantage.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of ITIL processes and be able to work flexible shifts and participate in on-call rotations.
