Job Title:

Deep-Tech Investment Specialist

 

Job Description:

The successful candidate will play a key role in the investment team, responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities in deep-technology sectors. They will perform thorough technical and commercial due diligence on opportunities involving photonics, quantum computing, advanced materials, semiconductors, and related high-impact technology fields.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Originate, analyze, and recommend direct and fund investment opportunities in deep-tech sectors, especially in photonics, quantum computing, and advanced physics-based innovations.
  2. Perform comprehensive technical, market, and financial due diligence, including in-depth analysis of novel technologies and intellectual property.
  3. Prepare clear, concise investment memos and present findings to senior management and the investment committee.
  4. Track industry trends, maintain a pipeline of promising startups and emerging technologies, and build relationships with industry experts, academic partners, and other investors.
  5. Assist in post-investment portfolio management, monitoring company performance and supporting value creation initiatives.
  6. Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and with portfolio companies.
  7. Collaborate cross-functionally with operating businesses and internal teams to drive investment strategy.
  8. Operational Activities:
  • Prepare, edit, and design professional presentations (slide decks) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accurately record, draft, and distribute meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up on action items.
  • Assist in drafting, formatting, and finalizing internal reports, memos, and investment documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings and calls, manage scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-tier university, preferably in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Photonics, Quantum Computing & AI, or a related field. They will also possess at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in research, product development, investing, consulting, or industry roles related to deep-tech sectors.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, error-free documents and presentations under deadlines. They will demonstrate initiative in supporting both routine and ad hoc tasks. They will maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information. They will contribute to a collaborative and positive team culture.
