Job Summary

The Valuation Methodology team is responsible for ensuring the accurate valuation of positions in Global Markets and Banking. They ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and prudent practices.

  • Establish and maintain the Deterministic Quantitative Method framework to provide robust valuations.
  • Collaborate with model validation, model risk governance, and production teams to ensure calculations align with internal governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance on new product initiatives and their potential impact on valuations.
  • Define and implement methodologies used in the valuation space, such as Independent Price Verification and Prudent Valuation Adjustments.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy
  • Develop and implement valuation adjustment and price testing policies to ensure accurate valuation outcomes.
  • Continuously review and improve valuation policies and methodologies to ensure alignment with evolving regulatory and market requirements.
Business Operations
  • Ensure the accuracy and transparency of front-office valuations through independent price verification.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain compliance with accounting, internal model governance, and regulatory requirements.
Processes and Innovation
  • Drive the evolution of the valuation ecosystem to reduce operational risk and enhance efficiency.
People and Talent Development
  • Foster collaboration and create an environment of accountability, trust, and excellence among team members.
  • Build an inclusive and positive work environment that supports growth and development.
Risk Management
  • Identify, measure, or monitor valuation risks to ensure effective management.
  • Ensure robust controls for fair value adjustments, price testing, and prudent valuation adjustments during periods of stress or illiquidity.
  • Drive the evolution of the valuation ecosystem to reduce operational risk.
Governance and Compliance
  • Maintain functional independence from the front office to ensure unbiased oversight of valuations.
  • Stay aware of and familiar with evolving regulatory and internal governance frameworks relevant to valuation methodology teams and roles.

Key Qualifications

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in valuation, front office, market risk, or a related quantitative area within Global Markets environment.
  • Previous experiences in valuation control and financial modeling are required.
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of Global Markets products and corresponding valuation techniques.
  • Strong technical expertise in valuation methodologies, pricing models, and market data sources.
