Job Overview

The seeker of a Corporate & M&A Legal Counsel is looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join their team. This role will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on all aspects of Singapore law, as well as assisting with mergers and acquisitions, general corporate law, and litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to the company's business departments, managing directors, traders, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including leading the legal assistance on business development activities, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, and negotiating alongside with the business, finance, and tax teams.
  • Lead the legal assistance on corporate secretarial matters, including incorporation of companies, corporate secretarial, business registration, and renewal matters.
  • Draft, review, and evaluate internal policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Requirements:
  • A degree in law (LLB) from a university and be called to the Singapore bar.
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in either a law firm or as a legal counsel, preferably with experience in trading and distribution, property development, construction-related fields.
  • Expertise in mergers and acquisitions, general corporate law, knowledge of and litigation.
  • Ability to travel to Malaysia with the Managing Director for M&A jobs.
