Your Role in Underwriting

The AIG Underwriting teams are dedicated to crafting insurance solutions across various sectors, including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, and Multinational Clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand the Trade Credit business line in the Asia Pacific region, focusing on underwriting renewals and new submissions, particularly in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Australia.
  • Evaluate risks based on submissions from intermediaries and provide quotations necessary for binding coverage.
  • Ensure underwriting excellence for each assigned account, adhering to procedures, reviewing manuscript wording, and following up on risk recommendations.
  • Underwrite new and renewal insurance submissions while negotiating policy terms and conditions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, producers, and service providers.
  • Proactively seek and execute strategies to enhance the pipeline.
  • Participate in Broker and Client meetings to strengthen local market presence.
  • Comply with operating and audit guidelines.
  • Assist regional leadership with timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support onboarding and training for new team members.

Qualifications for Success

  • A background in finance or accounting.
  • Strong expertise in financial and credit analysis, along with the ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Relevant experience in the trade credit sector or related fields within banking and finance.
  • Proven experience in account management, engaging with senior stakeholders such as CFOs, Credit Controllers, and Risk Managers.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required by business needs.
  • Proficiency in understanding financial statements and business information in English and another regional language.
