System Administrator Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Unix system administrator with strong VMware experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of Unix systems and virtualized servers on VMware.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Unix System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux servers (RHEL).
  • VMware Environment Management: Manage, provision and support VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
  • System Monitoring and Performance: Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain system security, patching, and compliance in line with CIS benchmarks.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues, including application-to-database connectivity problems.
  • File System and Storage Management: File system and storage management, manage disk partitioning and logical volume management (LVM), including resizing and splitting mount points.
  • Automation and Scripting: Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) or configuration management tools.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures for Unix and VMware systems.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with application teams to support deployments, upgrades, and system migrations. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
  • VMware Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
  • Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, etc.).
  • Storage Systems: Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS) and backup solutions.
  • ITIL Practices: Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification.
  • Linux Certification: Linux Administration Certification (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+).

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
