Lead Sourcing Strategist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers capable of fulfilling the company's requirements for cost, delivery, quality, and service.
  • Assist in pricing inquiries for project estimates, negotiating prices, and securing contracts for essential supplies such as MCUs, sensors, drivers, and switches.
  • Conduct cost assessments across various commodities, including electronics, plastics, packaging, and manufacturing processes, to ensure optimal quality at the lowest cost.
  • Formulate a commodity strategy that focuses on optimizing the supply base while mitigating risks.
  • Lead the selection, qualification, and development of strategic suppliers, ensuring multiple sourcing options for core products.
  • Ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and conduct audits of supplier practices.
  • Engage in regular cost negotiations with suppliers to maintain competitiveness and enhance market share.
  • Drive continuous improvement in non-price terms and conditions to optimize inventory management, payment terms, and minimum order quantities.
  • Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the Bill of Materials (BOM) in the database, safeguarding confidential information and pricing agreements for key components.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, supply chain, program management, and finance, to promote operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as the Supplier Relationship Manager, addressing escalated supplier issues, including shortages and performance failures.
  • Monitor current market conditions and technology trends, identifying supply and demand challenges, and develop tactical and strategic commodity plans.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of contract management frameworks, providing guidance to stakeholders and collaborating with the Legal team to create internal service agreements and contract templates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
  • Exhibit advanced functional, technical, and interpersonal skills, along with effective process management capabilities.
  • Proven success in a sourcing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment focused on electronic components and systems.
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic work setting.
  • Capable of fostering positive collaboration across all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, with strong leadership and negotiation abilities.
  • Fluency in Mandarin to facilitate communication with suppliers in China.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
