Lead Sourcing Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers capable of fulfilling the company's cost, delivery, quality, and service requirements.
  • Assist in pricing inquiries for project bids, negotiating costs, and securing contracts for essential supplies (including MCUs, sensors, drivers, switches, etc.).
  • Conduct cost assessments across various commodities such as electronics, plastics, packaging, and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal quality at the most competitive prices.
  • Formulate a commodity strategy that focuses on optimizing the supply base while mitigating risks.
  • Lead the selection, qualification, and development of strategic suppliers, ensuring that core products have multiple sourcing options in terms of contract manufacturers and geographical locations.
  • Ensure compliance with the latest industry standards and conduct audits to verify adherence to codes of conduct.
  • Engage in regular cost negotiations with suppliers to maintain competitiveness and enhance market presence.
  • Drive continuous improvements in non-price terms and conditions to optimize inventory management, expand payment terms, and reduce minimum order quantities beneficial to the organization.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of the Bill of Materials (BOM) in the database, safeguarding confidential information and pricing for critical components.
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as procurement, supply chain, program management, and finance to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as the Supplier Relationship Manager, addressing escalated supplier issues, including shortages or performance failures.
  • Monitor current market conditions, technology trends, and supply/demand challenges, developing and communicating both tactical and strategic commodity plans as necessary.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of contract management frameworks, providing guidance to stakeholders and collaborating with the Legal team to create internal master service agreements and contract templates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
  • Exhibit advanced functional, technical, and people management skills, along with strong internal relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven success in a sourcing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment that deals with electronic components and systems.
  • Ability to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
  • Capable of fostering positive collaboration across all levels in a cross-functional team.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, with strong leadership and negotiation capabilities.
  • Fluency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with suppliers in China.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
