Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist in Aquaculture to join our team.

The successful candidate will work with esteemed professors on research projects related to sustainable aquaculture solutions.

  • This position involves conducting research and providing technical expertise in fish reproduction, genetics, diagnostics, health, and developmental biology
  • Successful candidates must be proficient in IT skills, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and good documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting research and providing technical expertise in fish reproduction, genetics, diagnostics, health, and developmental biology
  • Analysing research findings and disseminating data
  • Achieving project key performance indicators, guiding researchers through training, and publishing research articles
  • Coordinating with external collaborators on project development
  • Documenting, collating, analysing and interpreting data
  • Carrying out procurement, including liaising with vendors, sourcing for materials, equipment and testing, and raising purchase requests
  • Documenting and tracking project issues, expenses and budget
  • Mentoring students involved in final year projects, internships, short-term work attachments, and similar programmes
Requirements:
  • PhD in Aquaculture or Fish Reproduction, Fish Developmental Biology or Molecular Biology/Genetics/Genomics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels
  • Proficient in IT skills
  • Good documentation skills, laboratory techniques, and research and data analysis skills
