Audio-Visual Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced audio-visual technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of audio and video equipment, experience with lighting and filming techniques, and excellent troubleshooting skills.

The job will require working with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and other live events. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating superb audio and visual effects to enhance any live experience.

  • To have prior experience in transporting, assembling, operating, and repairing equipment used for events and multimedia production.
  • Meeting with event coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
  • Altering venue arrangements according to layout diagrams.
  • Laying electrical and sound cables.
  • Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras.
  • Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
  • Operating sound and visual equipment during live events.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.
  • Maintaining strong customer relations.
  • Disassembling audio and visual equipment and packing up after the event.
Requirements

To succeed as an audio-visual technician, you should possess:

  • Diploma/certification in audio-visual, live sound engineering, or a similar field.
  • Previous experience working as an AV technician.
  • In-depth knowledge of sound, video, and lighting equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Good level of physical fitness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
