Job Title: Environmental Health Specialist

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and implementing an effective Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) in accordance with prevailing legislation. He/She will conduct Environmental, Health and Safety Audits as per requirements, ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, prepare and conduct EHS training for employees, measure and monitor WSH performance, perform ECO duties as assigned, implement Earth Control Measures (ECM) plan including erosion control and sediment control according to Qualified Erosion Control Professional (QECP) design, supervise ECM implemented accordingly, devise ECM operations, maintain and inspect programme on site, assist QECP to monitor effectiveness throughout various stages of construction, obtain Clearance Certificate to commence works from Public Utilities Board (PUB), install ECM on site according to the ECM Plan, and be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • To administer and implement an effective Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) in accordance with prevailing legislation;
  • Conduct Environmental, Health and Safety Audits as per requirements;
  • Making certain that all ordinances or orders bearing on occupational safety and health and environmental are complied with local laws;
  • To prepare and conduct the EHS training for all employees which are identified in RA and SWP;
  • Measure and monitor the WSH performance of the project and discuss WSH performance in the WHS committee meetings;
  • Perform ECO duties as assigned;
  • Implement effective Earth Control Measures (ECM) plan including erosion control and sediment control according to Qualified Erosion Control Professional (QECP) design;
  • Supervise the Earth Control Measures implemented accordingly;
  • Devise Earth Control Measures (ECM) operations;
  • Responsible for maintenance and inspection programme on site;
  • Assist Qualified Erosion Control Professional (QECP) to monitor the effectiveness throughout various stages of construction;
  • Obtain the Clearance Certificate to commence works from Public Utilities Board (PUB) by submitting the Earth Control Measures (ECM) Plan, designed and endorsed by the Qualified Erosion Control Professional (QECP);
  • Install the Earth Control Measures (ECM) on site according to the ECM Plan;
  • Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time as your superior/management deem fit.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a Specialist Diploma in WSH and/or Bachelor's Degree in Workplace safety and health (WSH)-related and certificate in ECO. Additionally, he/she must be registered with NEA and IES and have at least 5 years of work experience relevant to the work to be carried out by a ECO cum ECMO in LTA Projects.
