Job Title: Senior Director, Regional Engineering

Job Description

You will be a key member responsible for leading and supporting engineering practices in regional development. Your primary role will be to oversee the standardisation of data centre design and build across the region.

  • Lead a team of engineers to execute various projects, overseeing multiple functions such as engineering studies, site feasibility studies, new technology and construction methodology research.
  • Be involved in green and brown field projects including site selection, setting up project teams, engagement with consulting teams and overseeing design and tender award processes.
  • Oversee a team in data centre development that requires liaison with management teams and stakeholders to prepare necessary documents for business case preparation and presentation.
  • Shortlist and engage consultant teams to assist in design development and tender preparation, including preparation of project cost budget estimates.
  • Lead research and development projects to improve data centre energy and water efficiency, build efficiency, operation productivity and sustainability by lowering PUE, WUE and carbon emissions.
  • Design, construct and build green and brown field data centres, including creating development plans, identifying land parcels and site planning, finalising designs with partners, evaluating power sources and understanding customer requirements.
  • Drive energy, water and waste efficiency along with green power for existing and new data centres.
  • Support the recruitment process by participating in the attraction, shortlisting and interviewing of top engineering and project management talents.
  • Enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation and excellence while elevating the quality and calibre of our engineering and data centre development organisation.
  • Participate in strategic planning with other stakeholders to meet required outcomes and collaborate with peers in other business functions to achieve desired results.
  • Lead, mentor and support project managers, engineering managers and energy managers to foster a high-performance culture.

Job Skill & Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant studies such as Mechanical, Electrical, Project Management or Architecture.
  • Possess at least 15 years of working experience with at least 10 years of relevance in data centre related fields involving DC development and engineering works.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and possessing people management skills.
  • Strong M&E background with ability to lead design requirements, identify single points of failure, oversee engineering fault analysis and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Possess excellent communication, presentation and writing skills in English.
  • Possess good financial knowledge to oversee project cost controls and financial management.
