Job Description

As a key player in our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical power systems on offshore platforms and FPSO vessels. You will lead a team of skilled electrical personnel and technicians, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical power systems including SCADA systems in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee electrical power system design, system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities to support project execution and operations.

Ensure that all electrical designs meet the required specifications, class society rules, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and vendors to ensure the successful integration of electrical power systems within overall project objectives.

  • Develop electrical specifications, drawings, and technical documents as per project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Review and approve electrical design deliverables, including single-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and schematics.

Conduct technical reviews, prepare technical bid analysis, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for electrical engineering projects. Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Provide technical support and guidance during procurement activities, including specification of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Lead testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities for electrical power systems, ensuring adherence to employer's requirements and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in electrical power engineering principles and practices. The ideal candidate should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PE license) is preferred.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in electrical power engineering, with a focus on marine and offshore projects, particularly OSS and FPSO vessels.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in electrical power engineering principles, practices, and standards, including marine electrical systems, power distribution, and hazardous area classification.
  • Familiarity with class society rules, regulatory requirements, and industry standards applicable to FPSO electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, Power Factory, PSCAD, or equivalent programs.
  • Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, with demonstrated leadership abilities and effective communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical safety practices, hazard analysis, and risk assessment methodologies applicable to marine and offshore environments.
