Job Description:

The Deputy Head of Commercial Lines is responsible for assisting in the development of product strategies to drive growth and profitability, while effectively managing pricing and risk assessment.

This role requires a strong understanding of commercial insurance business, including Fire, Property, All Risk, Public/Product Liability, CAR, WIC, GPA, GBT, and other groups.

  • Develop and implement product strategies to achieve business targets.
  • Manage effective pricing to ensure adequate coverage for acceptable risk exposure.
  • Handle risk assessment and underwriting of commercial insurance business in accordance with delegated authority.
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, agencies, and agents to secure profitable business and meet production targets.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of competition and continuously innovate market approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop high-quality training and engagement programs with distribution to educate intermediary partners on product portfolios and benefits offered by the company.
  2. Lead, motivate, and develop the commercial lines underwriting team to achieve business targets.
  3. Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in acquired intermediary accounts.
  4. Proactively recruit new intermediaries to expand distribution networks.
  5. Perform regular market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of competition and continuously innovate market approaches.
  6. Leads innovative solution projects to enhance user requirements and customer experience, coordinating stakeholder involvement.
