Job Description

The Storage Specialist will collaborate with a leading global investment bank as a member of the APAC IT Storage team to ensure optimal data storage and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support projects in APAC regions managed by the APAC storage team to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Maintain configuration standards and design guidelines for storage systems, management systems, and required software to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide technical assistance to deployment teams to resolve any technical issues that may arise.
  • Maintain, adhere to, and improve standard operating procedures followed in the organization to enhance efficiency.
  • Perform storage resource allocations and migrations when required, complying with established processes to minimize downtime.

Essential Technical Knowledge/Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise storage platforms, with a focus on system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Technical knowledge in EMC PMAX/VMAX & ECS, Pure storage, NetApp, Brocade switches, and CleverSafe, with expertise in implementing and maintaining these solutions.
  • Solid understanding of storage hardware and system services, including volume management operations, file system management, data migration, snapshot & replication technologies, and connectivity technology.
  • Good grasp of storage upgrade processes and hands-on experience in performing storage code upgrades to ensure minimal disruption.

Other Value-Added Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience, with a focus on coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities.

Specific Qualifications Required:

  • SAN management at an intermediate to advanced level to oversee the installation and maintenance of storage area networks.
  • NAS management at an intermediate to advanced level to manage network-attached storage systems.
  • Object storage management at an intermediate to advanced level to handle unstructured data storage and retrieval.
  • ITIL foundation for service management to understand best practices in service delivery and support.
