The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience in the culinary industry or formal training. A food service permit or valid health/food handler card is required by local government agencies. The ability to interact with customers, employees, and third parties reflects highly on the hotel, the brand, and the company.

Fiscal Responsibility

The Commis Cook must assist department heads in controlling and monitoring departmental costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget. This includes analyzing data and making recommendations for cost savings initiatives.


Culinary Expertise

This role requires the ability to prepare high-quality dishes according to standard recipes. Additionally, it's essential to clean and re-set your working area regularly and implement hotel and department regulations, policies, and procedures.


Guest Experience

As a Commis Cook, you'll communicate politely and display courtesy to guests and internal customers. You'll also assist with the preparation, presentation, decoration, and storage of dishes. Your primary focus should be on providing exceptional guest experiences.


Safety and Security

Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health, and safety legislation, policies, and procedures. Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within guidelines.


Accountability

You will support the Section Chef by preparing, presenting, storing, and serving a selection of dishes. This role also involves creating a desired work culture around our Winning Ways and embracing the IHG Commitment.
