Job Title: Maritime Operations Coordinator

The Maritime Operations Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of vessels. Key responsibilities include monitoring day-to-day vessel operations, supervising cargo handling, and providing critical information to the master regarding cargo, port, route, and other essential factors.

Additionally, this role involves appointing agents and protective agents when necessary, checking and approving estimates and final PDA, coordinating with agents for vessel arrival and departure formalities, and assisting the master with on/off hire preparations.

Other key duties include monitoring bunker and fresh water consumption, arranging supply, and providing essential information to chartering managers. This includes reporting on vessel berthing, cargo operations, departure schedules, and bunker quantities.

A high level of coordination is required to ensure seamless communication between charterers, managing companies, and insurance providers. This may involve settling C/P disputes, arranging pre-loading surveys for high-value cargoes, and coordinating transit HRAs including armed guards and insurance arrangements.

Ultimately, the successful Maritime Operations Coordinator will be responsible for preparing accurate invoices and monitoring hire/freight expenses. To succeed in this role, you should possess exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Beyond these core responsibilities, it is essential to have a deep understanding of maritime regulations and procedures, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances is also crucial.
