As a Power System Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and operation of the power and electrical services system to ensure it meets regulatory requirements for MRT operation.

Your responsibilities will include managing equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and legislative requirements, planning cost-effective maintenance programs, and achieving operational goals for power supply availability and reliability.

You will develop and regularly revise work instructions in accordance with approved procedures, regulations, industry best practices, and other relevant standards.

Additionally, you will participate in complex investigative tasks, identify root causes, and manage comprehensive repair works.

You will be responsible for managing non-executive staff, including participating in selection processes, handling disciplinary actions, conducting performance reviews, and involving staff training and development.

Liaising with external agencies on matters related to the power supply system and its equipment is also an essential part of this role.

You will prepare, evaluate, and oversee maintenance contracts, certify outsourced contractor's work, invoices, purchase orders, and variation orders.

Procuring necessary tools, spares, and services for system operation, conducting obsolescence studies, and implementing follow-up plans are also key responsibilities.

Ensuring safe work conditions and access for mainline and depot maintenance activities, participating in testing and commissioning of equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to specifications, and participating in failure review and corrective action implementation are also essential duties.

This role requires you to supervise project initiatives and modification tasks, including detailed planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure compliance to specifications and objectives.

You will undertake and manage tasks and projects assigned by the Head of Department.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Possess a Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Polytechnic
  • Preferably at least 5 years of practical experience in power distribution and electrical services, preferably in a rail transportation environment
