Job Title: Duty Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and economical operation of various equipment and systems within the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the provision of services necessary to guests and other operating departments in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with other operating departments to implement repair and maintenance schedules.
  • Responsible for engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, hotel property, restaurant, and grounds.
  • Respond to engineering and maintenance concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Perform and/or monitor maintenance and preventive maintenance projects to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
  • Address all building-related safety concerns in a proactive and efficient manner.
  • Maintain departmental compliance with hotel maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • Support hotel departmental maintenance programs by executing daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
  • Assist management in specifying proper supplies and equipment for operations.
  • Deal with guest-related concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain the hotel's public spaces, rooms, and back-of-house areas in good repair through various trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, and tiling.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possess a solid understanding of basic hand and power tool operation.
  • Be knowledgeable about common mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Have experience in engineering and maintenance operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
