Senior Server Administrator

As a Linux Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our server infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and organizing server placement in racks, mounting arrangements, and installing and maintaining UNIX/Linux operating systems on new and existing servers.
You will be responsible for reinstalling OS as needed, troubleshooting system-related abnormalities, conducting routine server maintenance, and performing troubleshooting tasks to handle break-fix hardware issues. Additionally, you will manage internal system data, including asset tracking, rack layout information, and ticket management. Collaborating with remote teams or vendors to address hardware issues and batch failures will also be an essential part of your duties. Furthermore, you will participate in on-call duties to resolve business-side operational issues as they arise, monitor and verify the status of online assets, diagnose potential problems, and handle server decommissioning processes such as drive wiping and reconfiguration. Lastly, you will provide feedback on tools, systems, and platforms for retrofitting or testing purposes, and oversee RMA submissions and media destruction tracking.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Understanding how server technologies and functions interconnect is essential, along with the ability to read and execute basic Shell or Bash scripts. Proficiency in Linux systems with the ability to identify hardware issues, solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including MAC addresses, subnets, and TCP/IP protocols, with troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with out-of-band or remote server management protocols such as IPMI are required. Willingness and availability to work on weekends as required are also necessary. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
