Ensuring animal health is at the core of our operations. We manage a large scale nutrition system that caters to over 15,000 animals across five zoological parks. Our role is to provide safe and nutritious diets while promoting operational excellence and sustainability.

Our team oversees daily operations including ordering, receiving, storing, preparing, and distributing animal diets. This includes ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and regulatory standards. To improve productivity, we implement work procedures using mechanisation and automation. We collaborate with veterinarians, curators, and other departments to refine and implement evidence-based diets and ensure optimal nutrition for MWG animals.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the smooth and efficient operations of the Wildlife Nutrition Centre and Avian Nutrition Centre.
  • Manage daily operations including procurement, preparation, and distribution of animal diets.
  • Evaluate and maintain quality control systems.
  • Develop and implement work procedures to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Veterinarians, Curators, and other departments to develop and implement nutrition strategies.
  • Work with the procurement department to source high-quality animal feed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead staff recruitment, development, and performance management for Nutrition Centres personnel.
  • Plan and recruit staff to ensure smooth operations of the Center.
  • Establish KPIs and goals setting with Senior Curator for staff to pursue in each FY.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in central kitchen, commissary, wildlife nutrition, zoo or rescue center operations, or animal feed management.
  • Experience in procurement and contract management for feed and supplies.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, including recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Technical knowledge of kitchen equipment and facility maintenance relevant to feed preparation operations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards related to food safety, animal welfare, and operational compliance.
  • Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management systems.
