Job Title: Commis Chef

A key role in our culinary team, the Commis Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation of all sections and ensuring they are ready for our superiors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Chefs to ensure accurate quantities for bulk food preparation.
  • Clean, peel, and cut all food items according to our company's standards and maintain efficient food service.
  • Follow recipes and cooking procedures precisely to ensure high-quality dishes.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of food items and maintain accurate storage using labels and day-dots.
  • Responsible for the proper cleaning and sanitation of the working area and equipment.
  • Handle all working materials and equipment correctly and keep them well-maintained.
  • Report any necessary repairs to the Head Chef.
  • Adhere to all statutory hygiene and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties pertinent to this role as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of kitchen experience.
  • Understand oral and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under stress.
  • Maintain all international standards of health guidelines for food preparation and safety.
  • Pass all required job-related tests.
  • Ability to perform manual labor.
Work Environment:

The Commis Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with moderate exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Moderate physical activity is required, including handling objects up to 25 kilograms and standing or walking for more than 6 hours per day.

The successful candidate will be required to follow basic safety precautions to minimize potential hazards or physical risks.
