About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Digital Matte Painter to join our team. As a key member of our creative team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality digital matte paintings that seamlessly integrate with live-action footage and CGI elements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concept Art Creation: Develop detailed concept art for environments, characters, and props that align with the project's creative vision.
  • Matte Painting: Create photorealistic digital matte paintings that meet both creative and technical standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Art Director, VFX Supervisor, and other departments to ensure successful integration.
  • Research and Reference: Conduct research and gather references to enhance the realism and believability of environments and assets.
  • Technical Integration: Optimize digital matte paintings for seamless integration into the pipeline.
  • Problem Solving: Address technical challenges related to matte painting and concept art.
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for concept and matte painting processes.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate advanced proficiency in industry-standard software such as Photoshop, Maya, Nuke, and other relevant tools.
  • Artistic Skills: Showcase strong artistic skills with a solid understanding of composition, color, lighting, and perspective.
  • Technical Knowledge: Apply knowledge of VFX pipelines and workflows.
  • Communication: Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail to produce highly realistic artwork.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in Nuke.
  • Understanding of basic principles of 3D texture projections.
