We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our team of scholars. As an esteemed scholar, you will have the opportunity to pursue full-time doctoral studies overseas and contribute to the academic landscape of education in humanities.

Objective

The selected candidate will be sponsored by the National Institute of Education to pursue their PhD in either History Education or Geography Education. This prestigious scholarship aims to foster excellence in education and develop future leaders in these fields.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least four years of authentic teaching experience in a Singapore secondary school or pre-tertiary institution.
  • Hold a very good Honours degree or Master's degree in a related discipline from a reputable university.
  • Have ongoing engagement in research prior to their PhD studies.

Terms and Conditions

As a scholar, you will be required to enter into a bond to serve the National Institute of Education as an employee for a period of five years upon obtaining your doctoral degree. The scholarship will provide:

  • Stipend.
  • Pre-studies allowance.
  • Thesis allowance.
  • Conference and fieldwork grants.

Area of Study

This scholarship is focused on education in humanities, specifically History Education and Geography Education. We are committed to exploring new and innovative ways of delivering subject matter content in the humanities and social sciences.

Applicants must submit a succinct write-up on their research topic, commitment to the area of study, and expected contribution to NIE, schools, and the Singapore education system.
