Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Valuations Expert to join our team. As the Subject Matter Expert on assets and securities valuation, you will oversee the pricing and valuations matters of investments held by fund vehicles across both public and private assets as well as derivatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and continuously improve the company's pricing and valuation oversight controls and processes.
  • Review valuation methodologies across all asset classes adopted by third-party fund administrators for fund vehicles. Oversee the pricing and valuation activities of service providers and ensure consistent methodologies and pricing vendors/sources continue to be appropriate and relevant.
  • Ensure that investments are always marked at fair values. Collaborate and coordinate with Operational Due Diligence (ODD) and Private Assets Investments teams to review and assess the valuation governance framework, policies and procedures of external General Partners of indirect private assets investments.
  • Assist external valuation agents with the performance of external valuation processes for direct private assets investments.
  • Resolve valuation exceptions and queries as the Valuations Subject Matter Expert.
  • Review pricing data sources and parameters configured in internal systems to ensure investment assets are properly valued.

Valuation Advisory Committee (VAC)

  • VAC serves as the centralized forum for resolving pricing and valuations issues.
  • Run VAC periodic meetings as per VAC's Terms of Reference. Assist in the preparation of materials to be presented to the VAC.
  • Act as single point of contact to address, triage and resolve pricing and valuations exceptions. This includes coordinating the fair value determination and approval processes and related documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or Financial Engineering. CVA qualifications or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years of experience in pricing and valuations of public and private assets.
  • Relevant experience in developing and implementing risk monitoring frameworks.
  • Good working knowledge of funds vehicles particularly Luxembourg SICAVs and Singapore VCC.
  • Product knowledge (Private Assets, Fixed Income, Equity, Mutual Funds, Derivatives). Prior experience preparing and/or auditing security valuations a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as be a team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work with all levels of staff and management.
  • Resilient; able to work under pressure and ability to track and deliver assignments on schedule.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
