Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Professional to lead the preparation, baking and quality control of our bakery products. If you have a passion for baking, this could be the ideal role for you

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and cleaning baking equipment, tools, and workstations for daily production, preparing ingredients for baking pastries, ensuring that baked goods are produced in sufficient quantities based on demand, and monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal product quality.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in the baking or food production industry, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a diploma/certificate in a bakery-related field, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Setup and clean baking equipment, tools, and workstations for daily production
  • Prepare ingredients for baking pastries
  • Ensure that baked goods are produced in sufficient quantities based on demand
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure optimal product quality
  • Maintain high standards of product quality by ensuring the consistency, taste, and presentation of baked items
  • Inspect the freshness and appearance of baked goods to ensure they meet established quality standards
  • Monitor ingredient inventory and ensure that supplies are ordered and stocked in a timely manner
  • Keep track of stock levels to minimise waste and avoid shortages
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations
  • Ensure all baking processes adhere to health, safety, and food handling regulations
  • Plan and organise the baking schedule to ensure timely production and minimize downtime
  • Coordinate with other team members to meet deadlines, especially during busy periods
  • Assist with ad hoc duties as and when required
