Job Title: Fleet Superintendent

The primary function of the Fleet Superintendent is to oversee the daily operations of a group of container vessels, ensuring they are managed effectively and efficiently. This involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including ship captains, engineers, and other support staff, to guarantee that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.

As a key member of the fleet operations team, the Fleet Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the vessel, including crew management, maintenance, and repairs;
  • Coordinating with shore-based teams to ensure seamless communication and minimize downtime;
  • Preparing and submitting reports on vessel performance, safety, and operational efficiency;
  • Developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives to optimize vessel operations;
  • Ensuring compliance with international and local regulations, as well as adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Marine engineering education and experience, preferably as a senior marine engineer or dual navigation officer;
  • Technical knowledge of container vessel operations, including ship management and technical support;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of professionals;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in high-pressure situations;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
