Bakery Specialist Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Bakery Management: Oversee and manage one or several sections of the baking area, ensuring high-quality products and efficient production processes.
  • Confectionery Preparation: Prepare confectionery according to recipes and standards, using ingredients efficiently and effectively.
  • Menu Execution: Execute menu items with consistency and quality, meeting customer expectations.
  • Ingredient Handling: Select, measure, and handle ingredients according to recipes and standards, minimizing waste and errors.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and train junior bakers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor ingredient levels and manage inventory for your section, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing overstocking.
  • Quality Control: Ensure confectionery meet taste, texture, and presentation standards, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area and equipment in your section, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with other sections to ensure timely and efficient production, communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to bakery visitors, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Problem Solving: Handle issues that arise during service and resolve them effectively, minimizing downtime and maintaining productivity.
Requirements:
  • Skills:
    • Cakes: Expertise in cake preparation and decoration.
    • Sanitation: Knowledge of sanitation procedures and practices.
    • Inventory: Ability to manage inventory effectively.
    • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, including training and supervising junior staff.
    • Baking: Proficiency in baking techniques and processes.
    • Food Safety: Understanding of food safety procedures and regulations.
    • Literacy: Excellent literacy skills, including written and verbal communication.
    • Ingredients: Knowledge of ingredients and their uses.
    • Quality Control: Understanding of quality control procedures and practices.
    • Patisserie: Experience working in a patisserie or bakery environment.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced bakery environment, where physical demands are moderate to high. The ideal candidate should be able to work well under pressure, maintain attention to detail, and prioritize tasks effectively.
