Job Opportunity: Horticultural Management Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Horticultural Management Professional to oversee the daily operations of our nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and implement hydroculture plant projects in accordance with production planning, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery.
  • Supervise and allocate work tasks to nursery workers, promoting productivity and adherence to standards.
  • Monitor the maintenance and efficient use of nursery machinery and equipment, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate and apply best horticultural practices in the care, propagation, and upkeep of plants, enhancing overall quality and reducing waste.
  • Collaborate with the project team to prepare costings and quotations for tender submissions, providing accurate and reliable data.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of nursery operations, processes, and resource management, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field, demonstrating a solid understanding of theoretical concepts and practical applications.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in nursery or horticultural management, preferably with exposure to hydroculture, showcasing expertise and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant nursery operations, including plant propagation, pest and disease management, and irrigation systems, ensuring effective implementation and optimal outcomes.
  • Proven ability to supervise and manage nursery workers, promoting teamwork, motivation, and job satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with machinery and equipment used in plant nursery settings, enabling efficient operation and maintenance.
  • Experience in preparing costings/quotations for projects is advantageous, supporting business growth and profitability.
