Job Description

The Senior/Executive Engineer, Signal, Communication & Control Engineering role is designed to provide engineering solutions to reliability problems affecting SMRT Signalling, Communication & Control System and their associated equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting defect troubleshooting, failure analysis, reliability trending, and developing engineering solutions to identified problems;
  • Working effectively with Ops and Maintenance staff from the Lines as well as other engineering departments to investigate defects and develop methods to rectify them;
  • Analyzing and trending condition monitoring and defect data to identify reliability concerns and develop strategies to overcome them;
  • Drafting technical work instructions for preventive and corrective maintenance activities;
  • Identifying and implementing cost-effective technologies to enhance SMRT Signaling, Communication & Control System performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous;
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work hands-on in a maintenance workshop environment alongside other Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Technical Officers;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills;
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
