Head of Rail Signaling System Engineering

Are you a leader in railway signaling? We are looking for an experienced individual to take on the role of Head of Engineering for Signaling System Design.

As a seasoned expert, you will lead a team of engineers in designing and implementing state-of-the-art signaling systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rail networks.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Authority: Lead as Technical Authority for ATC (Automatic Train Control), ATS (Automatic Train Supervision), Radio, IXL (Interlocking), and Signaling Trackside Units, including GoA4 applications internally and towards customers.
  • Project Implementation: Ensure successful implementation and operation of ongoing projects in Singapore and ASEAN region by taking hands-on actions on site when necessary.
  • Engineering Statements: Take the lead for necessary Engineering Statements required by projects.
  • Team Management: Manage and develop engineering resources and staffing to support ongoing projects and new opportunities aiming for a self-functioning Engineering Center.
  • Expertise Development: Establish and maintain expertise in all signaling areas, ensuring proper development processes are in place.
  • Culture Ownership: Establish an ownership culture to have a sustainable department.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by identifying challenges, analyzing root causes, and distributing lessons learned to the team members.
  • Key Performance Targets: Create Key Performance Targets of the Engineering Department with close collaboration with other department leaders.
  • Market Advocacy: Actively advocate Siemens technology and solutions in the market to improve chances of winning tendered work.

Requirements
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or equivalent fields.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience in rail signaling domain, with deep expertise in signaling technical design and solutions.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in managing and developing engineering teams, with experience leading teams disciplinary and functionally.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage staff and contractor requirements professionally.
  • Cultural Diversity: Experience working with customers and colleagues from diverse cultural environments.
  • Software Development: Experience of software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development.
  • Tech Communication: Ability to clarify complicated technical concerns to non-technical individuals.
  • Expertise: Expertise in software, hardware, systems engineering, and IT security aspects.
