Datascience Educator (Statistics and Analytics)

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Datascience Educator to join our team at the Department of Statistics and Data Science. As a key member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to undergraduate students or adult learners in the field of statistics and data science.

Key Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate exceptional expertise and knowledge in statistics and data science to engage students and promote academic excellence.
• Collaborate with the course coordinator to design and develop innovative teaching materials, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Act as a lead educator and assist the course coordinator in managing a team of part-time student instructors, promoting teamwork and collaboration among staff and students.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to both the course coordinator and students, enhancing their understanding and skills in statistical and data science practices.
• Foster strong relationships with colleagues and external partners through effective communication, sharing best practices, and contributing to departmental initiatives.
• Create an inclusive learning environment by incorporating real-world case studies, practical examples, and interactive sessions that capture students' attention and enhance their learning experience.

Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, or related fields, preferably with experience in teaching or practicing empirical quantitative work.
• Proficiency in data tools such as R, Power BI, Orange, Tableau, Excel, Python, etc., to facilitate hands-on learning experiences for students.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts and ideas.
• Strong organizational skills, enabling efficient management of class time and resources.
• Ability to stay up-to-date with changes in the field of statistics, analytics, and data visualization, applying this knowledge to improve teaching and learning strategies.
• Prior experience in teaching adults is advantageous, showcasing ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and styles.
