Job Title: Statistics and Data Science EducatorPosting Date:The Department of Statistics and Data Science at the National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Teaching Assistant (Statistics and Data Science).As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and passion for statistical and data science with undergraduates or adult learners.We are seeking candidates who possess a deep understanding and expertise in the subject matter, as well as excellent communication skills.Your responsibilities will include demonstrating a deep understanding and expertise in the subject matter, working with the course coordinator in the development of teaching and assessment materials, acting as a lead TA and helping the course coordinator manage a team of part-time student teaching assistants, providing constructive and insightful feedback to the course coordinator and students, engaging in academic interaction with adults from all disciplines, capturing and maintaining students' attention, making each class engaging, interactive, and memorable, enhancing the learning experience by integrating practical examples and real-world case studies, and demonstrating excellent organizational skills, ensuring a well-paced class.Qualifications include at least a bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, mathematics, or related fields, preferably with experience in teaching or practicing empirical quantitative work. You should also be proficient in data tools such as R, Power BI, Orange, Tableau, Excel, Python, etc., have excellent oral and written communication skills, be resourceful and up-to-date with changes in the field of statistics, analytics, and data visualization, be proactive and reflective about teaching practice, and be able to foster strong collaboration with colleagues. Prior experience in teaching adults is advantageous.
