Biomedical Systems Engineer

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to manage projects, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot biomedical systems.

  • Manage the lifecycle of biomedical systems from installation to decommissioning, ensuring they are properly maintained, tested, and calibrated to meet patient safety standards.
  • Perform complex tasks related to biomedical systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and calibration, with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee the completion of scheduled preventive maintenance jobs for biomedical systems according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns in biomedical systems using manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
  • Liaise with user departments and vendors to ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance and breakdown jobs for biomedical equipment under service contract.
  • Commission new biomedical equipment from vendors and ensure they meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist users with IT integration-related issues for biomedical equipment.
  • Order parts for breakdown jobs and expedite delivery.
  • Ensure team members complete scheduled preventive maintenance and breakdown jobs within required timeframes.
  • Minimize disruptions to users' operations by liaising with them and biomedical equipment vendors.
  • Support user departments with their biomedical equipment inventory.
  • Prepare reports summarizing information and trends on biomedical equipment for user departments.
  • Provide technical input in projects, meetings, and discussions with various user departments from the BME perspective.
  • Draft technical specifications for new biomedical equipment procurement and participate in evaluation and procurement processes.
  • Offer technical guidance and decision support to technical officers on communication skills, issue resolution, and customer services.
  • Attend technical training sessions on biomedical equipment arranged by the department.
  • Stay up-to-date on IT, cybersecurity, and EMR integration-related matters for biomedical equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field plus 5 years of working experience in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
